Whilst we offer a range of courses suitable for participants with disabilities, we are not a disability provider. Our Adult Education courses are designed to help people find employment or to continue their education at a TAFE or similar provider.

English as a Second Language (Level 1)

The lack of conversational English skills can be the biggest drawback in gaining employment. This course will help you with both the spoken and written English language. 

There are no prerequisites for enrolling in this class.

Length: 20 hours - 8 weeks

English as a Second Language (Level 2)

The lack of conversational English skills can be the biggest drawback in gaining employment. Build on your ESL skills from ESL Level 1 with this course designed to help you build your English skills for working in Australia.

Length: 20 hours - 8 weeks
Cost: FREE

Note: Succesful completion of ESL Level 1 is required to enrol in this class.

Prepare for iELTS

This course aims to improve learner’s English skills to a level where they feel confident enough to either undertake the iELTS course, gain employment or enrol in further education.

There are no prerequisites for enrolling in this class.

Baking with Language

Improve your conversational English skills while learning to bake. Learn to read recipes and try different cultural recipes.

Note: This course is designed to build confidence in learners who have low or no english skills.

Practical Literacy & Numeracy

Improve your basic skills. Become more confident in everyday situations. Suitable for people with disabilities.

Length: 20 hours - 8 weeks

Reading and Writing Basics

Do you need assistance with your reading and writing skills? This course aims to help learners of all ages improve their everyday reading, writing, maths and communication skills.

Length: 20 hours - 8 weeks

Literacy Through Art

This course does not require any art skills or knowledge. It is designed for people to improve their literacy and numeracy skills. Learners will be involved in a group-based activity of creating an art piece/mural to be displayed at the Ballarat South Community Hub.

Length: 30 hours - 10 weeks

Writing Community Newsletters

Develop the skills to create and produce community newsletters. Build your vocabulary and writing skills through drafting, revising, editing and publishing newsletters for distribution in the local community. Develop skills in photography and multimedia.

Length: 20 hours - 8 weeks
