The Ballarat Neighbourhood Centre is an Incorporated Association governed by a Committee of Management.
The Ballarat Neighbourhood Centre together with the Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre and Ballarat East Neighbourhood House have a shared Committee of Management.
The Committee, elected by the Members of the three Neighbourhood Centres, believes strongly in involving and encouraging participation, inclusion and valuing diversity by delivering quality programmes, activities, adult education and services which respond to the social, recreational, cultural and economic needs of the community.
Ballarat Neighbourhood Centre exists to increase the social and economic participation of people in our community, especially those experiencing disadvantage.
"Creating community connections. Supporting your learning journey"
Ballarat Neighbourhood Centre delivers a range of programs and services that improve the outcomes of people in our community by:
- Delivering skills and training to those experiencing socio-economic disadvantage
- Working with learners and partners to build pathways to further education and employment
- Working together to activate community and increase social connection.
Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every second month, alternating between both Wendouree and Ballarat Neighbourhood Centres, commencing at 6.00pm. The Annual General Meeting is held in May each year. Planning sessions are held 1 - 3 times per year.
Only members are eligible to nominate and elect the members of the Committee of Management. Ballarat Neighbourhood Centre membership is offered to all Neighbourhood Centre participants, and those who live or work within the local areas. For a Membership Application click here.
