Welcome to the Jobs Victoria Work and Learning Centre Ballarat, where we know every person’s journey towards employment will be different. (Note names have been removed to protect client privacy)
Thank you for today for the friendly chat I came in feeling down and little bit lost. But I left feeling that is what I need and the help I need to too vary my career path . I felt that you very helpful with positive energy I felt you gave enough time to get to know me as well with out being rushed.
I just want to say thank you for all your efforts. I feel very privileged to meet you and have the opportunity to have access with the services that you guys offer. All the people there are all nice and approachable.
The way I learned how to apply for jobs in such a different way has opened up many options for me. My attack plan to gain employment has been changed for the better.
Tomorrow I have all day by myself in the shop so I must be doing something right. Thankyou again for all your help you gave me. You do a wonderful job.
I didn’t expect it to be so much fun! I thought it would be boring. It was really fun finding out how the brain works - a surprising experience. I am certainly going to recommend this course to others especially my mum.
Another friend made me realise that I can change my life by chasing my dreams. She introduced me to Jan and that sent me on a path of self-discovery.
I realised that my perspective on the world had been very limited and I had been "cocooned in a little shell which had limited my experiences and having to move into a whole new world was quite frightening." I am now "really enjoying moving forward and no longer feels stuck and in a rut".
While studying Community and Human Services at Federation University, I have attended placement with the lovely Katie within the 'Our Kitchen' social enterprise at the BNC. It has been a pleasure to see the participants of the program build in confidence, and gain a new hope for their future. The staff have been very friendly and supportive of my own educational journey towards working in the human services. Thankyou to everyone at the BNC! (Jess)
Another amazing visit to the Neighbourhood centre yesterday. On behalf of ...all the MAC participants sincere thanks for taking time out to inspire a new group. We watched on as participants swooped on the pamphlets at the table which is always such a positive response to your presentation. A couple of our participants have expressed interest in connecting in particular for the computer building, administration and NEIS program...Thank you for always making us feel so welcome Jan. We look forward to hearing any outcomes from participants who have connected with you in the coming months.
I couldn’t be happier with each of their [the participants] progress and your service and support. It is a real credit to you and the Work and Learning Centre Ballarat...I do not really know of any other program that is as good as this in terms of time commitment and practicality of activities that are being carried out.
The BNC holistic practice comprehends stresses for people who are not familiar with the Australian workforce expectations about recruitment processes, language, culture or norms. The Work and Learning Advisor facilitates the client working toward employment and once secured, supports that individual to ensure the best chance of sustained employment.
Thanks for all your wonderful work, connection and support of our MAC Participants over this year (and all the years). We are so lucky to be in partnership with your lovely self. All our participants comment on how approachable you are, how helpful, how down to earth, genuine, caring and just lovely! So THANK YOU!
